Women in IT
Women’s Safety and Advocacy Initiative
Sydney International is committed to maintaining and strengthening our School as a safe, supportive, equal opportunity, and equal rights Institution. Gender equity plays a key role in improving the lives of women, their communities, and future generations.
The catalyst for this Initiative is the current UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE by 2030 to End Violence against Women, and Generation Equality campaigns. These campaigns, managed by UN Women, is a multi-year effort aimed at preventing and eliminating violence against women and girls around the world.
It calls on governments, civil society, women’s organisations, young people, the private sector, the media, and the entire UN system to join forces in addressing the global pandemic of violence against women and girls.
At Sydney International we want to empower our female students and staff while they are studying, working, and pursuing their careers. We seek to train IT professionals who will be valued for who they are regardless of their gender.
We want women to be work-force ready, and to train leaders of the future in the field of IT, business and beyond.
